
In 2021, Spain’s egg industry registered a turnover of €1.035 billion, according to data from the report “The egg-producing poultry sector in figures” (El Sector de la Avicultura de Puesta en Cifras), published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in September 2022.
Spain produced a total of 1.128 billion egg dozens in 2021, 2.2% less than in 2020. However, production grew by 3.8% compared to 2019, while turnover increased by 6.2%.
These figures establish Spain as one of the top producers in Europe in 2021, reaching the third position in the EU, after France and Germany, accounting for 16% of total production.
